ACTION THIS DAY’s development model is centered around the following elements:

• Invest in the required infrastructure
  Investing in infrastructure is required to improve the education & skills of the students, cut costs for the project in the long-term, and pave the way to implement income generating projects.
• Improve access to education
  Over 1/4 of Kenyan children do not have access to primary education, only 40% attend secondary school. Access to education is even worse in communities like Bamburi where ACTION THIS DAY’s first project is based.
• Implement vocational training
  92% of unemployed Kenyans under the age of 30 have no vocational skills. ACTION THIS DAY’s vocational training schemes will improve our community members’ access to employment.
• Develop income generating projects
  To achieve real financial sustainability, long-term dependence on foreign aid needs to be reduced. ACTION THIS DAY’s income generating projects are estimated to cover 60% of future operational costs.
